Tutxinmepu Powwow

The Native American Student Center, in conjunction with the Native American Student Association and the University of Idaho, hosts the Tutxinmepu Powwow each year. Tutxinmepu is a Nez Perce word meaning “the place where the deer loses its spots.” Dancers, drummers and audiences come from across the Northwest and Canada to participate in this visual and artistic representation of the strength and vitality of the Native culture.

Join us for our 22nd annual Tutxinmepu Powwow:

Saturday, April 1, 2023

Grand Entry at noon and 7 p.m. in the Idaho Central Credit Union Arena
Event is free and open to the public.

Join us as we continue to honor our traditions and culture through drum, prayers and dance. You will also be able to purchase unique, authentic crafts and jewelry from our American Indian vendors. This is a free event for all, so whether you'll be dancing or enriching yourself by appreciating Native American culture, be sure to invite your friends and family.
